How to set up a multifunction device or application to send emails using Microsoft 365 or Office 365 | Microsoft Learn 

Configure an IP Address-based connector to relay email through Microsoft 365 or Office 365

Configure an IP Address-based connector to relay email through Microsoft 365 or Office 365 by entering the settings as described in the following table:

If you already have a connector that's configured to deliver messages from your on-premises organization to Microsoft 365 or Office 365 (for example, a hybrid environment), you probably don't need to create a dedicated connector for Microsoft 365 or Office 365 SMTP relay. If you need to create a connector, use the following settings to support this scenario:

We recommend adding an SPF record to avoid having messages flagged as spam. If you are sending from a static IP address, add it to your SPF record in your domain registrar's DNS settings as follows:

Het hierboven beschreven SPF record moet aangemaakt worden in de DNS records van de partij die het domein beheert (dus niet in Office 365). Je kan in Office 365 wel de DNS records controleren.



Stel onderstaande in bij Bake-it met de juiste klantgegevens

Let op dat je een - teken gebruikt in de smtp host

 yourdomain- com.mail.protection.outlook.com

De stap hieronder moet ook gedaan worden!

Hier staat beschreven hoe je de connector aanmaakt in Office 365 en het WAN IP adres van de locatie waar Bake-it draait gebruikt:

Create and configure an inbound connector in your Microsoft 365 organization

To create and configure an inbound connector in your Microsoft 365 organization, perform the following steps:

  1. Obtain the public (static) IP address that the device or application will send from. A dynamic IP address isn't supported or allowed. You can share your static IP address with other devices and users, but don't share the IP address with anyone outside of your company. Note this IP address for later use/reference.

  2. Sign in to Microsoft 365 admin center.

  3. Go to Settings > Domains, select your domain (for example, contoso.com), and find the MX record. The MX record will have data of the POINTS TO ADDRESS value which looks similar to contoso-com.mail.protection.outlook.com.

  4. Note the data of the POINTS TO ADDRESS value for the MX record, which we refer to as your MX endpoint.

  5. Check that the domains that the application or device will send to have been verified. If the domain isn't verified, emails could be lost, and you won't be able to track them with the Exchange Online message trace tool.

  6. In Microsoft 365 or Office 365, select Admin and then select Exchange to go to the new Exchange admin center.

     Notitie

    On selecting Exchange, the new Exchange admin center is launched.

  7. In the EAC, go to Mail flow > Connectors.

  8. Check the list of connectors set up for your organization.

  9. If there is no connector listed from your organization's email server to Microsoft 365 or Office 365, go to the EAC and perform the following steps to create a connector:

    1. Select +Add a connector.

    2. In the wizard that opens, choose the options that are depicted in the following screenshot on the first screen:

    3. Select Next. The Connector name page appears.

    4. Provide a name for the connector and select Next. The Authenticating sent email page appears.

    5. Select the By verifying that the IP address of the sending server matches one of these IP addresses which belong exclusively to your organization radio button, and add the IP address from Step 1 of Step-by-step configuration instructions for SMTP relay.

    6. Select Save.

  10. Now that you're done with configuring your Microsoft 365 or Office 365 settings, go to your domain registrar's website to update your DNS records. Edit your SPF record. Include the IP address that you noted in step 1. The finished string should look similar to this v=spf1 ip4:10.5.3.2 include:spf.protection.outlook.com ~all, where 10.5.3.2 is your public IP address.

     Belangrijk

    Skipping this step can cause email to be sent to recipient Junk Email folders.

  11. Now, go back to the device, and in the settings, find the entry for Server or Smart Host, and enter the MX record POINTS TO ADDRESS value that you recorded in step 3.

  12. To test the configuration, send a test email from your device or application, and confirm that it was received by the recipient.


Test nu het mailen vanuit Bake-it.

Mocht het nog niet lukken kijk dan in de EmailLog folder in Bake-it.

Test eventueel via powershell of je poort 25 kan bereiken

Test-NetConnection -computername 52.101.73.6 -Port 25

Let op dat je in de Bake-it log kijkt of het nog steeds ip nummer 52.101.73.6 is, anders aanpassen in bovenstaande test.

Als de test gelukt is dan moet hier true staan:


Hieronder de oude methode die mogelijk niet meer werkt

Om een SMTP-connector in te stellen voor het verzenden van e-mails vanaf een multifunctioneel apparaat met Office 365, moet u de volgende stappen uitvoeren:

  1. Log in op het Office 365-beheercentrum: https://admin.microsoft.com/

  2. Selecteer in het linker menu "Exchange" onder het kopje "Beheercentra" om het Exchange-beheercentrum te openen.

  3. Navigeer in het Exchange-beheercentrum naar "E-mailstroom" in het linker menu.

  4. Klik bovenaan op "Connectors" en vervolgens op het "+" teken om een nieuwe connector te maken.

  5. Selecteer "E-mailserver van uw organisatie" als de "Van" optie en "Office 365" als de "Naar" optie. Klik op "Volgende".

  6. Geef een naam en beschrijving voor de connector. U kunt er ook voor kiezen om de connector in of uit te schakelen met het selectievakje "Inschakelen". Klik op "Volgende".

  7. Selecteer "Gebruik het domein van de afzender" als criterium voor het toepassen van de connector op berichten. Klik op "Volgende".

  8. Klik op het "+" teken om een domein toe te voegen. Voer "*" in als het domein, waardoor de connector op alle uitgaande berichten wordt toegepast. Klik op "OK" en daarna op "Volgende".

  9. Kies "E-mail routeren via deze smarthosts" en klik op het "+" teken om een smarthost toe te voegen. Voer de hostnaam of het IP-adres van de SMTP-server van uw multifunctionele apparaat in. Klik op "Opslaan" en vervolgens op "Volgende".

  10. Voor de verificatie-instellingen selecteert u "Geen" en zorgt u ervoor dat de optie "Gebruik het IP-adres van de afzender" is aangevinkt. Klik op "Volgende".

  11. Controleer uw instellingen en klik op "Opslaan" om de connector te maken.

Nu u de SMTP-connector hebt ingesteld, kunt u Bake-it of ORBAK configureren om de SMTP-server te gebruiken:

  1. Open de e-mail instellingen van Bake-it of ORBAK

  2. Voer de volgende informatie in:

    • SMTP-server: smtp.office365.com
    • Poort: 587 (aanbevolen) of 25
    • Versleutelingsmethode: STARTTLS (aanbevolen) of TLS
    • Verificatie: Voer uw Office 365 e-mailadres en wachtwoord in.

  3. Sla de instellingen op en test de e-mailfunctionaliteit om ervoor te zorgen dat alles correct werkt.
